Turning the Fountains TEAL in Aiken, South Carolina for Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

AUGUST 29, 2013: A grand celebration of family and friends was held at the Newberry Street water fountain as special guests joined Alicia Owens and Debbie Mills to turn the water teal. Special thanks to Mayor and Mrs. Fred Cavanaugh; Lessie Price, URS representative and Aiken City Council member; Melissa Summer, Director of Marketing, Aiken Regional; Lauree Caldwell, RN, Program Navigator, Women Enlightened, Aiken Regional; Karen Blackmore, RN, Aiken County Employee Health Department; Connie Rule, owner of Connie's Framing; Lisa Glass, American Cancer Society; Richard Pearce, Aiken City Manager; and Stuart Bedenbaugh, Assistant City Manager. The fountain will remain teal throughout the month of September - Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. A special thank you to URS for their support of this year's event, to the Aiken City Council for approving our request, and to Tim Coakley and crew for working with us on this project - and keeping the water teal throughout the month.
