Fox Creek High School -- 2010 "Paint the Field Teal" Events

Post date: Nov 01, 2010 2:9:49 PM

For the second year, FCHS supported Gail’s Anatomy with their year-round campaign for ovarian cancer awareness. Tammie Alan and a host of volunteers worked to make this event a success. FCA hosted its annual Powder Puff Games at Merriwether Middle School on Monday, November 22nd. Leading up to the game, shirts were sold, along with teal bracelets, teal silly bands, and mardi gras beads. A poster contest was also held. Many thanks to Dunkin' Donuts of Aiken for providing donuts to the poster winners' home room.

The Powder Puff games were covered by Walt Reece, photographer for the Augusta Chronicle's "Spotted" section. To view pictures, go to AugustaChronicle.com and click on the latest posts - and Fox Creek High School Powder Puff Games. Before 9:00 AM the day after the event, the pictures had already been viewed almost 2,000 times :) Great job, Walt -- and thanks Augusta Chronicle!

Of course, special thanks also goes to Alicia and Ali Curry for working the event :)

A copy of the program with rosters is attached.

Thank you Fox Creek High School students and staff for making a difference in ovarian cancer awareness.
